As an Obama supporter, I am rapidly losing HOPE that Obama is going to establish a high level of ethics in our government. Every day I hear more about the horrible PORK and unnecessary spending that our current administration is loading on the taxpayers. Already, the main word I associate with Obama is PORK. The Original Obama HOPE poster was illegally copied from an AP artist so I am not sure who will hate my version more, the original artist or the artist who stole the work. Here is my interpretation of the Obama HOPE poster based on the recent bailout package with over 8000 PORK attachments. It is an embarrassment to me as a democrat.
During the past 8 years, Bush established a new low for leadership by using Terrorist fear to manipulate the public so he could do unethical and immoral things. I was hoping that the Obama administration would show the republicans how to govern for the people and not for self interests. What actually has happened is that now the democrats are using Economic Fear so they can manipulate the public for their own self interests.
For the first time every, I wish we had a third party choice. One that did not govern using corruption, lies, payback and PORK.
Mr. Obama. You should be ashamed. I thought you were going down in history as new type of president. I was wrong.

What did you expect? He ran as a big spender. He’s spending big. If he wants to retain his high approval through the next four years, he better reign in Pelosi and Reid. This government is out of control.

There should be no surprises there. Once in power, the object is to stay in power. It all becomes about how to manage that process, what to do that will appeal to the voters, and what you can get away with.

Brian, I think you have the names mixed up. I believe that it is Obama who is telling Pelosi & Reid how to do their jobs. It was reported that when the stimulus bill included the E-Verify bill [ which is almost 100% effective in finding illegal workers who are using false I.D.s]Pelosi & Reid ran to the Dems meeting & said that they had to delete the bill from the stimulus bill, “no questions asked”. If they had asked, what would have been the answer? I believe it was the man who is all for giving the illegal immigrants amnesty, the President, told them to do it.
For the voters who listened to & believed Obama’s rhetoric during the campaign, his actions while President may surprise them. For those of us who looked into the man, not the words, there is no surprise.

I did not vote for Obama and did not trust that he would taje care of We The People. Our Goverment is all for there self and no one else. They could care less if the hard working American people loose their jobs and everything in ther lifes they works hard for. The goverment takes our money and spends it on them and there rich friends like we are nothing but stupid people. Our Goverment is worse than the people on the street that are called pick pockets. We need to protest against the Govement like the smart people in other country. If people in other country lose their jobs yjet protest, we American send chain emails. dumb…

It is not the executive branch that legislates. The President has only one chance at a bill and that is when the bill is put on his desk for approval. At that time he can sign it and it becomes law, or veto it and it goes back to Congress. This is politics 101.
It’s not Obama who suggests the pork spending, it’s the Congress who attach riders in an effort to get the bill passed. It would be nice to see a bill get through Congress based on its own merit, but then there probably wouldn’t be any laws passed because you need a majority of the 484 legislators to send the bill to the president’s desk, and then a super-majority to override the President’s veto. The result is that legislators make deals like if you vote for my bill will put on your new bridge (there’s the pork).
Presidents, for as long as I can remember have asked for a line-item veto to get rid of pork-barrel spending, Clinton was the last one, but in the end legislators are not bright enough to think of different tools to use in negotiations.
Finally, don’t lose hope yet. Obama is only 100 days into his presidency and has reversed many policies that the Bush administration put in to place. I thought Bush 1 was bad, but 8 years of George W. was a nightmare.

There’s pork then there’s PORK. Could you please be more specific about this pork your talking about? Till I find out more about it, I’ll say politics has and always will be corrupt, but Obama is an angel compared to Republican presidents in my lifetime. From Nixon’s Watergate, Reagan’s Iran-Contra, Bush one’s New world Order, and W’s shredding of the Constitution, I’m glad a Democrat is in power. But America has been heading down the drain in a serious way since 1913 and there’s no stopping it. We need another Revolution.

As I write this it has only been 6 months since President Obama took office. Resist the temptation to blow with the political wind and keep your eye on the prize. A United States of America built on the ideas of our founding fathers. Change is slow but I think we are starting to head back in the right direction. Relax and be patient…

the united states has about 50 “3rd”parties.

It is extremely naive and ludicrous to believe that either party is looking out for your best interests. Wake up people!!

Barack Obama’s book, “The Audacity of Hope,” features a catchy title. It has a taste of bravery mixed with confidence. You’ll find nothing Pollyanna regarding it. I would possibly not support everything he tells, but he’s our president, as well as for me, he inspires trust. Which will do more for just a country than any number of backroom deals. Hope gives us energy, and energy sustains us through trying times. Boy, we’ve had them. I’m from West Texas, and I did not vote for Bush. When McCain ran against Obama, I was a citizen of Arizona, but I gave audacious hope a chance. The fight for progress and laying the foundations of prosperity isn’t over. I have come across the quips of those that don’t think Obama is capable of doing it. But step back a moment. Would anyone have most of us fail in order to tarnish the star of an incumbent for whom they didn’t vote? Attempting to keep our priorities straight, let’s work together with our president and build our future.
