I am worried about the Obama Healthcare Plan. Can it have dehabilitating effects on my parents budget? Do the improvements counterbalance the negative aspects?

It is extremely naive and ludicrous to believe that either party is looking out for your best interests. Wake up people!!

As I write this it has only been 6 months since President Obama took office. Resist the temptation to blow with the political wind and keep your eye on the prize. A United States of America built on the ideas of our founding fathers. Change is slow but I think we are starting to head back in the right direction. Relax and be patient...

I just looked at the Neuros VAR "dvrupgrade.com" and the Neuros site. The Neuros OSD doesn't include a tuner for OTA programming, and the new Linux box can presumably have a tuner card added, but it looks suspicously like the native available shows are going to be bittorrent shows.

Honestly, something I like about the Replay units is the lack of a keyboard.

The Neuros box does look like a nice, inexpensive Ubuntu box, though. I'd be tempted to buy it for that but I'd still want a dedicated OTA signal receiver/recorder that didn't require that I put the coax antenna into the relatively electically 'noisy' environment of my computer chassis. I've never been that pleased with tuner cards' performance compared with actual TVs' turner performance on over-the-air signals (though for cable, they work pretty well.)

There's pork then there's PORK. Could you please be more specific about this pork your talking about? Till I find out more about it, I'll say politics has and always will be corrupt, but Obama is an angel compared to Republican presidents in my lifetime. From Nixon's Watergate, Reagan's Iran-Contra, Bush one's New world Order, and W's shredding of the Constitution, I'm glad a Democrat is in power. But America has been heading down the drain in a serious way since 1913 and there's no stopping it. We need another Revolution.

It is not the executive branch that legislates. The President has only one chance at a bill and that is when the bill is put on his desk for approval. At that time he can sign it and it becomes law, or veto it and it goes back to Congress. This is politics 101.

It's not Obama who suggests the pork spending, it's the Congress who attach riders in an effort to get the bill passed. It would be nice to see a bill get through Congress based on its own merit, but then there probably wouldn't be any laws passed because you need a majority of the 484 legislators to send the bill to the president's desk, and then a super-majority to override the President's veto. The result is that legislators make deals like if you vote for my bill will put on your new bridge (there's the pork).

Presidents, for as long as I can remember have asked for a line-item veto to get rid of pork-barrel spending, Clinton was the last one, but in the end legislators are not bright enough to think of different tools to use in negotiations.

Finally, don't lose hope yet. Obama is only 100 days into his presidency and has reversed many policies that the Bush administration put in to place. I thought Bush 1 was bad, but 8 years of George W. was a nightmare.

They could care less if the hard working American people loose their jobs and everything in ther lifes they works hard for. The goverment takes our money and spends it on them and there rich friends like we are nothing but stupid people. Our Goverment is worse than the people on the street that are called pick pockets. We need to protest against the Govement like the smart people in other country. If people in other country lose their jobs yjet protest, we American send chain emails. dumb...

Brian, I think you have the names mixed up. I believe that it is Obama who is telling Pelosi & Reid how to do their jobs. It was reported that when the stimulus bill included the E-Verify bill [ which is almost 100% effective in finding illegal workers who are using false I.D.s]Pelosi & Reid ran to the Dems meeting & said that they had to delete the bill from the stimulus bill, "no questions asked". If they had asked, what would have been the answer? I believe it was the man who is all for giving the illegal immigrants amnesty, the President, told them to do it.
For the voters who listened to & believed Obama's rhetoric during the campaign, his actions while President may surprise them. For those of us who looked into the man, not the words, there is no surprise.
